When you first start working a job, you will feel like everything is right where it should be. A big part of the reason why that is the case has to do with the fact that you are in what is called the honeymoon phase of your employment wherein you will experience a deep sense of joy and satisfaction with your work life in some way, shape or form. However, if you are not careful and don’t take the necessary steps, you might not last in this stage for very long at any given point in time.
Suffice it to say that you need to get regular burnout training if you want to avoid descending down to the other four stages in the five stages of burnout. We have already talked about the first stage, so now it is time to discuss the rest. The second stage of burnout is when the onset of stress occurs. This is when things start to slip out of your grasp due to your tired body and mind, and you should start burnout mitigation as soon as you enter it because each subsequent stage is a lot harder to get out of.
The stress onset stage can be quickly followed up by the chronic stress stage, and then the fourth stage comes which is when burnout starts to become an inescapable reality. There is still a way to recover from this stage, but if you let it get to the fifth stage of chronic burnout you might need to take extended leave from the office in order to recover. This goes to show why proactivity is so important when it comes to burnout.
