The chainsaw is one of the most essential types of tools that you are ever going to want to end up using, especially in situations where you are trying to cut a tree down. A big part of the reason why that is the case has to do with the fact that chainsaws are really powerful which basically results in them being optimal for tree cutting at any given point in time. That said, this is not the only thing that chainsaws have been used for historically, and sometimes people might wonder who actually invented the chainsaw in the first place.

If you want to learn about chainsaw history, you need to know that it started in the first half of the 19th century. It was actually invented Bernhard Heine, who was a German doctor that specialized in the field of orthopedics. He invented the tool in 1830, and it pretty much revolutionized a lot of things in some way, shape or form. That said, this initial version of the chainsaw was a far cry from the powerful tool that we know and love in this modern day and age.

Perhaps the primary difference was that it didn’t have quite as much power back in those days which is understandable when you consider that industrialization was only just beginning back then. All of these things started to advance as time went by, and the modern chainsaw was invented at some point in the 20th century. This resulted in lumber becoming easier to harvest and many industries that specialized in that started to adopt the chainsaw as a truly essential tool that they would want to use on a more or less regular basis.
